Brakes

Front  Stock, with drilled  rotors in front. The car used the stock master cylinder and booster.  stainless steel braided brake hoses.  I used TR8 brake pads.  These pads fit right into a stock MGB caliper with NO modifications and give a 20% larger sweep area.  These brakes are adequate but get hot real fast and don't take punishment well.  I am working on a new brake system for the front of the MGB.  It will utilize ventilated rotors and 4-pot Wilwood calipers.

New Front Brakes

Well I have finally finished my new brake setup.  I decided to redesign the hub to accept a Honda rotor to make it very safe and easy to maintenance.  I had to design an adaptor to mount the Wilwood calipers and make a brake line adapter so I could use the original lines.  With this setup I can replace the rotors for $30 each instead of having to buy expensive custom rotors supplied with other kits.  Also I don't have to worry about any parts going out of production.  Honda rotors should be on the market for many years.

The brakes feel great and take much less pedal pressure to stop fast.  If you like this setup I have started manufacturing these kits.  Click here to find out more.

Old front brakes

Rear  Stock Jag XJS discs, pads, and calipers.  The only modification to the rear brakes, other than it is all Jaguar and not drum brakes,  was the stainless steel flex line to the rear.

Parking Brake  I modified a new parking brake cable but cutting off the part that goes to the solid axel and retrofitting it to the jaguar parking brake arms.  This was a very easy conversion and only took a few minuets to have working.
